Reflecting on 2024

December 12, 2024

A Year of Saying “Yes” to What Matters

December is a time of reflection upon the past year, being grateful for family, friends, inspiration, and creativity. All four are needed in my heart to bring forth what I want to express.

Scrolling through the multitude of 2024 Phone photos clearly reveals I said “yes!” to connections with my grown children, grandchildren, Mother, family and friends FAR more than I said “yes” to art-making. And some years are like that.

Instead of asking myself if I did “enough,” I asked myself with grace if I am satisfied. That answer is yes.

I’d encourage everyone to do just that, be satisfied with your human doings while you were being a human BEing. That’s the thing about real art by a real person using real hand-held tools vs. AI, it has passion within it and meaning behind it. It is not computer generated nor is it an algorithm.

It’s an experience for those making it and those viewing it.

Following this philosophical post, I enclose my gratitude to you friends and art lovers here. Thank you for engaging with my creations in person, at Building Character, and on Etsy. Our connection makes beautiful things happen.

Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and Happy New year!

Love,

Renee Reese
