Oh I HOPE you are healthy and hanging in there! We haven’t painted together in months, and that’s far too long. If you’re like me, I’m energized by making art and sluggish when I’m not. Besides that, it’s a boost to create together, feeling that liveliness that fuels us.
I can help you jumpstart your right brain with a brand new Zoom class! The scoop is that it’s four consecutive Thursday mornings 9:30-10:30 a.m. starting May 21 (next week!). You’ll get an email before each class containing a simple drawing, a reference photograph and a picture of my completed sketchbook page. Thursday morning a Zoom invitation will be sent to your email address and at class time you can click to enter the virtual classroom. I’ll demo the painting during our class time and chat about shapes, colors, and sketching techniques.
My hopes are that you’ll feel inspired by the different theme each week to revive your dried paints and dusty sketchbook. During the week, I encourage you to then create your own sketch within that theme: botanical, still life, landscape and grocery store flowers.
Until we meet on Zoom, think about what inspires you and makes you happy. My sketch of favorite planters, bird feeders, and perennials here at home was painted a Summer day last year.
I painted this one of ordinary art supplies, my vanilla Espresso, reading glasses and Winslow’s treats.
So we don’t have to travel to an exotic place right now or even gather in one classroom to find inspiration and jumpstart our art practice together!
Thank you for joining me and I can’t wait to SEE you!
